Q1. Tell us something about yourself?

A. Hi! I am Shantanu and I am a full time financial professional and a part time author and a traveller. I love exploring places, people and culture. Also, I am the author of two lovable books, My Girlfriend’s Wedding and Delhi Nights. I own two travel vlog channels on You Tube- Traveller SB and Travel Stories by SB.

Q2. How many Novels have you written? What is the Genre of your books?

A. As of now, I am the author of two published novels, My Girlfriend’s Wedding and Delhi Nights. Both these fall into the Genre- ‘Romance’.

Q3. How did you got time to write novels from your hectic working hours?

A. I usually write during the night as most of my thoughts come during the night when rest of the world is sleeping. Whenever I write something, I get transferred to a different world altogether which of course is virtual but different from the world we all live in.

Q4. What inspired you, to write books?

A. I started writing when I was in 3rd standard of my school. I read a story about the zamindars and it really influenced me. That is where I thought about writing something similar. And thus the journey began.

Q5. Both your books “My Girlfriend Wedding” and “Delhi Nights” is a very unique title. How did you got the idea of keeping these titles.?

A. I think about many suitable and Interesting titles out of which I can frame a story. So the best and the most suitable title comes first out of my mind and then the idea of the story.

Q6. Generally, most of the people write novels, some way or the other they are associated with the story. Is it your story in some way?

A. No. Not at all!

Q7. How was your experience working with Book Bakers and Locksley hall Publication?

A. It was great! Both Locksley Hall and The Book Bakers have given me a platform when I was a newcomer in this world of renowned and prominent authors. But the love and the support that I got, the entire credit goes to Suhail Mathur from The Book Bakers. He and his team has always supported me.

Q8. Which character in your books, you are most connected with and Why?

A. I think I can relate the characters of Anupama and Sanjay from My Girlfriend’s Wedding. They are quite connected with me. Two individuals from my college inspired me to sketch these two characters.

Q9. You worked as a banker and also writing both are different field. How did you handle both?

A. Well… that’s a secret! And to be precise, I worked as a banker, I am an author and also an avid Traveller. And simply, it is not as easy as it seems. It is difficult for everyone to manage all the three things at the same time and so is for me.

Q10. How long it took you to complete your book?

A. I took around 6 months to finish writing Delhi Nights and about a year or so to write My Girlfriend’s Wedding.

Q11. Are there any authors or books that inspired your writing Journey?

A. Not actually! What I write is simply what I feel about something. I do get inspiration from traveling and traveling lets me find out characters and plots.

Q12. What sparked your passion for storytelling?

Q13. What is your favorite genre in writing or Reading both ?

A. I am not  confined to any particular genre as such. However both my books are romantic, I am writing adventures and mystery at this moment. I am also plotting out a horror story which I will start writing.

Q14. What was the most surprising review you got from your readers which made you smile?

A. I think all the reviews were lovely and I never expected this to happen in my first book itself. What surprised me was that many readers wrote that they felt as if they are in those places in real which I have described in my story, particularly Darjeeling.
