Verdict: ☆☆☆ ½ A book which deals with a very common topic in our society. Divorce and getting married for a woman is very challenging which is very nicely narrated by the author. A must read.

 About the Author: Kavita Bhatnagar is a career bureaucrat, she is a writer by heart. Have published 2books of poems. Second Chance released by Anil Kapoor came out in 2020. love Unlocked is my second novel. She is an avid observer of life, her interest in reading and writing led her to write Second chance which is her first novel. She lives in Delhi with family. She holds a doctorate degree in political economy and has worked for two decades in various positions in the indirect tax department.

 Review:   As an avid reader, I got a chance to purchase Kavita Bhatnagar’s first book “Second chance”. The title and blurb of the book urged me to purchase the book. The cover of the book is simple and looks pleasing to the eyes. As I started reading the book, I could not stop the book till it got over. Though I read over weekend and nights after my office work. The narration was flawless and the story line was heart touching. The main character Ragin’s challenges after the painful divorce and hunt for a suitable partner for second marriage is every girls’ story who faces relationship trauma and loneliness after divorce. The emotions were very well portrayed by the writer which touched my heart as a reader. It’s the harsh reality in our society that woman faces lots of challenges in getting married again after divorce unlike male who gets married easily. I could really feel the frustration Ragini. A well written book by the author.  Trusting matrimonial sites and getting caught with Bad men who uses you for their own time pass was very emotional to read. The ending really touched me and I can feel the happiness till date. Only drawback was Ragini challenges were dragged too much and it created boredom as well. I wished to see more emotional and romantic angle with Mani. Also, Kamini her sister and Mia her friend and support systems were delightful to read. Their emotional support to Ragini was interesting. I recommend this book to everyone who faced such problem in life.

Pros: A nice and heart touching book to read which focuses on very important topic of the society.

Cons: The struggles of Ragini is finding suitable partner was dragged too much.
