What’s something you used to believe as a kid that seems ridiculous now?
What’s Something You Used to Believe as a Kid That Seems Ridiculous Now?
As children, we believed some truly magical things.
Maybe you thought swallowing a seed would grow a tree in your stomach. Or that the moon followed your car wherever you went. Perhaps you believed your parents knew everything… or that adults had life completely figured out.
Looking back, those beliefs make us smile.
But here’s something interesting…
Even as adults, we still carry beliefs that deserve to be questioned.
“I have to make everyone happy.” “If I fail once, I’m not good enough.” “People will judge me if I choose myself.” “I’m too old to start over.” “I need permission to follow my dreams.”
These beliefs may sound just as unbelievable years from now as our childhood myths do today.
The truth is, our minds create stories based on experiences, fear, and conditioning. Some stories protect us. Others quietly limit us.
Growth begins the moment we pause and ask:
“Is this actually true… or is it just a belief I’ve carried for years?”
Sometimes healing isn’t about becoming someone new. It’s about letting go of outdated stories that no longer belong in your life.
So today, I have a question for you:
What’s one thing you believed as a child that makes you laugh today? And more importantly…
What’s one belief you’re finally ready to outgrow as an adult?
I’d love to hear your answer in the comments. 💜
Sometimes the biggest transformation doesn’t come from learning something new—it comes from unlearning what no longer serves you.
