What Is the Best Excuse You Have Heard Lately?

Excuses are tiny stories we create when reality feels a little inconvenient.

Some excuses are believable:

“I got stuck in traffic.”

Some are creative:

“My phone was on silent, my charger stopped working, and somehow I also forgot my password.”

And then there are legendary excuses:

“I was about to start, but the universe gave me a sign to rest.”

Honestly, that one deserves an award!

We all make excuses sometimes. We delay workouts, avoid difficult conversations, postpone important work, and promise ourselves, “I will definitely start from Monday.”

But Monday has now become the most overworked day of the week.

The funniest thing about excuses is that we often know they are not completely true. We are not always too busy, too tired, or too unlucky. Sometimes we are simply nervous, distracted, confused, or not in the mood.

And that is okay—as long as we are honest with ourselves.

Instead of saying:

“I don’t have time,”

try saying:

“It is not my priority right now.”

That one sentence can feel uncomfortable, but it can also bring clarity.

Excuses may protect us for a moment, but action builds confidence. You do not need to do everything perfectly. You just need to begin somewhere.

So, what is the best excuse you have heard lately?

Share it, laugh about it, and then ask yourself:

Is this a genuine reason—or is my inner drama queen writing another episode?

Thought of the Day

An excuse may save you from discomfort today, but one small action can change your tomorrow.
