What’s One Piece of Travel Advice You Always Follow?

If there is one travel rule I genuinely believe in, it is this:

Never plan every single minute of your trip. Leave some space for the unexpected.

It is tempting to create the perfect itinerary before travelling. Breakfast at 8, sightseeing at 10, shopping at 2, sunset point at 5, dinner reservation at 8. Everything neatly arranged.

But some of my favourite travel moments are rarely the ones that could have been scheduled.

Sometimes it is discovering a tiny café while walking down an unfamiliar street. ☕
Sometimes it is stopping because the view suddenly demands your attention.
Sometimes it is chatting with a local who recommends a place you never found on Google.
And sometimes, the best part of travelling is simply sitting somewhere beautiful without checking what comes next.

✨ Travel Is Not a Checklist

Of course, planning matters. Flights, accommodation, safety and important attractions deserve preparation.

But a holiday should not start feeling like another office calendar.

When every hour is packed, we become so busy seeing everything that we forget to actually experience where we are.

Leave an afternoon free.

Take the road that looks interesting.

Try the little restaurant you had not researched.

Walk without constantly checking Maps.

Let the destination surprise you.

🧳 My Travel Philosophy

I like to think of travel as a conversation with a place.

You arrive with a plan, but you should also give the destination a chance to answer back.

Sometimes it says,
“Forget your schedule for a while. Come this way instead.”

And those spontaneous detours often become the stories we remember years later.

Photos capture places, but unexpected moments capture feelings. 💛

So wherever you travel next, plan enough to feel comfortable but leave enough room to feel curious.

Because sometimes the best travel memories begin with four simple words:

“We didn’t plan this.”

And perhaps that is exactly why they become unforgettable.
